As of noon on Friday, Nov. 17, crews were still working to investigate a pair of crashes that backed up traffic for miles in Stafford County, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

One crash was reported at mile marker 135.6 and the second at mile marker 137.2, they said, both in Stafford County, backing up traffic nearly five miles due to lane closures in both directions.
